Inah Canabarro Lucas, a Brazilian nun and the world's oldest person since January, passed away at the age of 116. Born on June 8, 1908, in Sao Francisco de Assis, Brazil, she lived in Montevideo for a time and taught mathematics and Portuguese in Tijuca. She took her vows in 1934 and lived in a home for nuns in Porto Alegre since 1980. Despite receiving a COVID-19 vaccine in January 2021, she fell ill in 2022 but survived.
