Archaeologists in Barcelona have discovered a large medieval ship, Ciutadella I, believed to be around 500 years old, during the excavation of a former fish market. The ship, measuring 10 meters long and 3 meters wide, features traditional mid-15th-century construction. Lead archaeologist Santi Palacios emphasized its significance, noting it adds to the understanding of the city's maritime history. The ship's fragile remains are being preserved for further research, and this find marks the second medieval boat discovered in Barcelona, enhancing the city's historical maritime narrative.
