China has successfully tested the world's first megawatt-class high-altitude wind power system, the S2000 Stratosphere Airborne Wind Energy System (SAWES), in Sichuan Province. This system operates at 2,000 meters, generating electricity and connecting to the power grid. It combines an airship platform with wind turbines, capturing high-altitude winds.
