Over 200 complaints have been filed regarding incidents from the 1970s to the 1990s. Bayrou rejected the accusations under oath and criticized the committee for a lack of objectivity. His daughter revealed that she was abused by a priest at school, which has further damaged his credibility, with many calling for his resignation if he is found to have known about the abuses.
