Robert Fico, the Slovak Prime Minister, announced in a Facebook video that Slovakia will no longer block the upcoming EU sanctions package targeting Russian energy revenues and military industry. This decision follows Hungary's earlier announcement to lift its blockade. The sanctions include a variable price cap on Russian oil and restrictions on trade through the Nord Stream gas pipelines. Fico's veto was aimed at securing written guarantees from the European Commission for assistance in case of gas shortages or rising procurement prices. Other countries, including Malta, have also expressed reservations but are expected to support the new sanctions. Teljes cikk (Portfolio.hu)
