The UK's gender pay gap is higher than the EU and OECD averages, with a recent study suggesting it is underestimated by one percentage point. As of April 2024, men earn £19.24 per hour while women earn £17.88, resulting in a 7.0% gap. The gap widens to 13.1% when considering all employees. The research indicates that the ONS has not accurately represented the gap due to flawed data weighting. The UK ranks 8th in Europe for gender pay gaps, significantly higher than France and Spain.
