A leading Norwegian public transport operator, Ruter, plans to enhance security measures after tests revealed that Chinese-made Yutong electric buses could be remotely turned off by the manufacturer. The tests indicated that while Yutong buses could receive software updates remotely, Dutch buses from VDL could not. Concerns about data security and remote control of electric vehicles have prompted Ruter to implement stricter cybersecurity protocols and work with authorities to mitigate risks.
