His wife, Lishay Miran-Lavi, shared photos of his return on X, showing him in a shirt made by their children. Lishay expressed gratitude but emphasized that their happiness is incomplete without the return of all hostages. Omri was one of the first hostages released and had previously provided information to Hamas during his captivity. He was abducted on October 7, 2023, while trying to protect his family.
