The Dutch Consumer and Markets Authority (ACM) has initiated investigations into major international tech companies to ensure compliance with the Digital Markets Act (DMA). The ACM coordinates with the European Commission, which can impose fines and require behavioral adjustments from these companies. The DMA, effective since May 2023, targets the dominance of large digital firms, with six companies designated as gatekeepers. Recent fines were imposed on Apple and Meta for non-compliance. The ACM also oversees the Digital Services Act (DSA) to protect consumers from illegal online content. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
