A Dutch foundation, Justice for Players, has initiated a class action lawsuit against FIFA and five national football associations, claiming that transfer regulations have unlawfully reduced players' earnings for over 20 years. The lawsuit is open to professional male and female footballers in the EU and UK since 2002, targeting FIFA and the football federations of the Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, and Denmark. The foundation argues that FIFA's rules violate EU competition laws, a claim supported by a recent European Court of Justice ruling. Preliminary estimates suggest around 100,000 players may be affected, with players losing significant earnings due to these regulations. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
