Jaroslav Drobny, born in 1921 in Prague, debuted at Wimbledon in 1938 representing Czechoslovakia. After the disruptions of World War II, he won the Wimbledon title in 1954 under Egypt's flag. Drobny was a key player in Czechoslovakia's first world champion ice hockey team in 1947 and faced challenges during the communist regime. He won his first Roland Garros title in 1951 and repeated it in 1952. Despite his success, he faced pressure from the government and eventually disassociated from Czechoslovakia.
