Astronomers have discovered a distant planetary system, LHS 1903, that challenges existing theories of planet formation. Unlike the Solar System's arrangement of rocky and gas planets, LHS 1903 features a rocky planet closest to the star, followed by gas giants, and another rocky planet further out.
