The European Commission may provide alternative solutions if technical standards for the EU's AI Act are delayed. CEN-CENELEC, responsible for drafting these standards, has pushed the deadline from August 2025 to 2026. While the standards are not mandatory, they will facilitate compliance for providers of high-risk AI systems.
