A survey revealed that many are unaware of the new rules, leading to changes in travel plans. The EES aims to enhance border security and requires biometric data registration at airports. However, the rollout has been complicated, causing significant delays at borders. Eurostar is taking measures to alleviate congestion, and the EES will be followed by the ETIAS system in 2026, requiring non-EU travelers to obtain authorization before entering the Schengen Area.
