The European Space Agency's NewAthena telescope aims to detect a significant number of supermassive black holes, particularly from the early universe, through advanced X-ray observations. Led by Portuguese researchers, the project anticipates discovering around 250,000 active galactic nuclei, with a focus on understanding the formation of galaxies and black holes. The telescope is set to launch in 2037. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
