The European Commission has identified 10 sectors that need to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) to remain competitive globally, announcing a €1 billion fund to support AI integration in healthcare, manufacturing, and defense. The 'Apply AI Strategy' aims to promote an 'AI first policy' to encourage companies to utilize AI tools. The initiative seeks to enhance competitiveness and sovereignty in AI development, addressing existing bottlenecks. Despite plans for increased AI adoption, the EU lags behind the US and China in AI investment. The Commission also plans to simplify regulations, including the AI Act, which is set to be fully implemented by 2027. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
