Helsinki is utilizing drones and AI to improve traffic flow at its busy West Harbour, Europe's second busiest port. The project, led by Forum Virium Helsinki and involving the Swiss start-up Mobilysis, aims to enhance intermodal transport connections and reduce congestion. Drones collect data on various transport modes, which is processed to create digital twins for traffic management simulations. While the initiative is seen as a step towards sustainable urban mobility, privacy concerns and the effectiveness of digital twin technology are raised by experts. The ACUMEN project, funded by the EU, will conclude in May 2026 with policy recommendations. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
