Ukrainian citizens made up 98.4% of those protected, with adult women and children seeing slight increases. Despite the dangers, 1.6 million have returned to frontline areas in Ukraine due to homesickness and financial strain in host countries. Many parents reported their children's unhappiness as a factor in their decision to return.
