Aszaad Haszan es-Sibani, the Syrian foreign minister, visited Moscow to strengthen ties and review agreements made under the ousted president Bashar al-Assad. This visit marks Sibani as the first high-ranking new Syrian leader to visit Moscow. Discussions included the participation of new Syrian president Ahmed es-Saraa in an upcoming summit. Russia aims to establish relations with the new Syrian leadership and offered diplomatic support regarding Israeli airstrikes. The delegation included key figures from the interim government and discussed military matters with Russian officials.
