A former US Navy sailor, Jinchao Wei, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for selling military secrets to China. Convicted of six crimes including espionage, he received over $12,000 for the sensitive information. Wei, who served on the USS Essex, was recruited via social media by a Chinese intelligence officer. He shared technical manuals and operational details about Navy ships, despite recognizing the suspicious nature of the contact.
