France has launched a 'diplomatic reserve' aiming to recruit 1,000 volunteers by year-end to assist citizens, counter disinformation, and enhance soft power. Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized the importance of public service and protecting French citizens abroad, especially in light of recent crises. The reserve will consist of two groups: current/former foreign ministry employees and volunteers from NGOs and associations.
