France has released an oil tanker named Grinch, suspected of being part of Russia's shadow fleet, after its owner paid a fine of several million euros. The tanker was seized in January and had been diverted to Marseille. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized that circumventing sanctions comes at a cost, and highlighted the growing issue of shadow fleets used to evade Western sanctions on Russian oil exports.
