A German data protection official, Meike Kamp, has accused the Chinese AI company DeepSeek of illegally transferring user data to China. She reported DeepSeek to Apple and Google, urging them to remove the app from their stores due to non-compliance with EU data protection laws. Kamp highlighted that DeepSeek failed to prove user data protection and that Chinese authorities have extensive access to personal data. Italy has already banned DeepSeek over similar concerns.
