World, a biometrics identification project co-founded by Sam Altman, has been found non-compliant with European data protection rules by the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA). The company, which scans irises and faces for identification, must begin a data deletion procedure in line with GDPR. Tools for Humanity's chief privacy officer, Damien Kieran, expressed concerns about the complexities of data anonymisation and privacy in the age of AI. World plans to expand its technology to more countries despite facing temporary bans in Spain and Portugal. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
