Germany's federal prosecutor charged eight suspects, including teenagers, for their alleged membership in a right-wing extremist terrorist group called Last Defence Wave, which aimed to destabilize democracy through attacks on migrants and political opponents. The group, founded in May 2024, planned arson and bomb attacks on asylum-seekers’ homes and left-wing institutions. Most suspects were arrested in May, with some in pretrial detention.
