The MONOCAB OWL is a futuristic automated monorail designed to connect rural areas in North Rhine-Westphalia using abandoned rail infrastructure. It aims to provide efficient public transport at bus prices, with frequent service. Developed by Thorsten Försterling and a team from the University of Applied Sciences, it is currently in testing. The system features self-stabilizing cabins, operates on electric batteries, and is designed for accessibility. The project aims to enhance economic growth and social cohesion in the Lippe district, with a planned launch by 2032. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
