The number of politically motivated crimes in Germany has surged, with over 84,000 incidents reported in 2024, marking a 40% increase from the previous year. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt highlighted antisemitism and right-wing extremism as significant threats, with over half of the crimes linked to right-wing extremism. A notable rise in antisemitic crimes was recorded, particularly related to the Israel-Hamas conflict. Dobrindt called for stronger law enforcement measures in response to this alarming trend.
