A study found that several headphone models from major brands in the EU contain hormone-disrupting chemicals, raising health concerns. Over 81 headphone types were analyzed, revealing harmful substances like bisphenols and phthalates in all tested models. While the study indicates no immediate danger, chronic exposure poses long-term health risks. The highest bisphenol levels were found in My First Care earbuds, marketed for children. Some headphones, like Apple’s AirPods Pro 2, were rated safe, while many gaming headsets received concerning ratings. Following the study, some retailers halted sales of certain models.
