Billions of forints were mismanaged, with funds transferred to companies owned by Bálint Somlai, a friend of Ádám Matolcsy, son of the former MNB president. Urban Estate Zrt., connected to both GTC and Ádám Matolcsy, signed a contract for a hotel project worth over HUF 7 billion, which has since been suspended due to the scandal.
