In the eurozone, the richest 10% held 57.3% of total net household wealth in Q4 2024, up from 54.5% in 2009. Wealth inequality has increased in Eastern Europe and varied in Western Europe. The Gini coefficient, a measure of inequality, showed Sweden with the highest inequality (75) and Belgium with the lowest (46). Finland and Spain saw the largest increases in inequality since 2008, while Belgium recorded the largest decrease.
