Historian Gabor S. Boritt passed away on February 2 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Born in Budapest during WWII, he survived the Holocaust and participated in the 1956 revolution before immigrating to the U.S. He became a leading historian on Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War, teaching at various universities and founding the Civil War Institute.
