The Hungarian government was unaware that MBH Bank, owned by billionaire Lőrinc Mészáros, lent €9.2 million to the Spanish far-right party Vox for their election campaign. State Secretary János Fónagy stated that the loan decision was made by the bank independently. Vox has since repaid the loan and announced its departure from the ECR group in the European Parliament.
