North Macedonia has taken a €500 million loan from Hungary's Eximbank, repayable over 15 years at a low interest rate of 3.25%. This loan is part of a larger €1 billion package aimed at infrastructure development and boosting the local economy. The loan's favorable terms contrast with Hungary's own high debt and interest rates. The right-wing VMRO-DPMNE party recently won elections in North Macedonia, ousting the Social Democrats.
