Hungarian cinematographer Gergely Pálos won the Best Cinematographer award at the 61st Chicago International Film Festival for 'Silent Friend', directed by Ildikó Enyedi. The film, a German-French-Hungarian co-production, explores the relationships between plants and humans and has already won six awards at the Venice Film Festival. It features three distinct storytelling periods, each filmed in a different style. The film will premiere in Hungarian cinemas on January 29, 2026, with an earlier screening at the Budapest International Film Festival on October 28.
