The Irish government plans to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel to alleviate the impact of rising prices due to the Middle East conflict. From midnight Wednesday until the end of May, diesel will see a 20 cent reduction and petrol a 15 cent reduction. A rebate scheme for hauliers and bus operators is also anticipated. The overall financial package, including energy supports for vulnerable groups, will cost €235 million. Teljes cikk (bbc.com europe)
