The archaeological site of Caral in Peru has unveiled a new area called Peñico, considered a 'city of social integration' due to its strategic location and numerous structures. The first Peñico Raymi festival will be held on July 12 to inaugurate the site. Peñico developed around 1800-1500 BC, and its society was linked to the exchange of hematite. The site features 18 constructions, including a ceremonial hall with representations of pututus, indicating connections with other pre-Columbian groups.
