A recent report by the Dutch Bar Association reveals that nearly 75% of political parties in the upcoming October elections have proposals that violate the rule of law. The far-right Forum for Democracy (FvD) and Geert Wilders’ Freedom Party (PVV) have the most concerning proposals, including plans to halt migration and asylum requests, which contradict international human rights treaties. Other parties also propose measures that may infringe on freedoms, such as banning face coverings at demonstrations.
