Nicusor Dan, the Romanian president, announced his participation in the first session of the Peace Council in Washington next week, following an invitation from US President Donald Trump. Romania will receive observer status. The decision is based on a diplomatic process initiated by a UN Security Council resolution. Romania reaffirms its commitment to international peacekeeping efforts and its willingness to participate in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan previously denied that the country lacked the funds to pay a membership fee, clarifying that Romania can be a member for the first three years without paying the one billion dollars.
