A new study reveals that men exposed to secondhand smoke during childhood may have children with poor lung health. The research, published in Thorax, indicates that the effects of smoking can be intergenerational. The study followed 890 fathers from early 1960s Australia and found that those exposed to secondhand smoke as children had offspring 56% more likely to experience lung function issues by age 53. The findings suggest that protecting children from passive smoke could improve their respiratory health and that of future generations. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
