The European Commission's call for interest in investing in AI gigafactories has received a strong response primarily from European entities, despite allowing global investors. EU Commissioner Henna Virkkunnen announced plans to mobilize €200bn for AI investments, with €20bn allocated for four to five gigafactories. These factories aim to enhance collaborative development of complex AI models and provide small companies access to large-scale computing power. The proposals indicate a potential investment exceeding €230 billion, although not all may materialize. The initiative is part of a larger effort to establish the largest public-private partnership for trustworthy AI development. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
