Musalia Mudavadi, the Kenyan foreign minister, traveled to Moscow to protest the recruitment of Kenyan citizens for the Ukraine war. The Kenyan government claims that over a thousand Kenyans were lured to Russia with promises of well-paying civilian jobs, only to be forced into military service. Mudavadi is expected to request safe repatriation for Kenyans currently in Russia or near the front. The Russian embassy in Nairobi denied involvement in the alleged recruitment system.
