Switzerland has reported its first case of a new strain of mpox, clade Ib, which has been spreading in Central Africa. The strain has caused thousands of infections since its emergence in the DRC in 2023. Other European countries, including the UK, Germany, Belgium, France, and Sweden, have also reported cases.
