Stephen Pow, a Canadian historian, discovered a connection between the legendary figure Lancelot and the Hungarian King Saint Ladislaus during his research in Hungary. He found that the name Lancelot may have been inspired by Ladislaus, as both figures share similar stories of heroism and encounters with pagans. Pow's theory suggests that the French poet Chrétien de Troyes, who wrote about Lancelot, might have drawn from the tales of Saint Ladislaus, particularly during a time when Hungary was seeking alliances with France. Despite skepticism from some scholars, Pow believes his findings could reshape the understanding of Lancelot's origins. Teljes cikk (Telex.hu)
