Recent observations indicate that illegal migrants have changed their behavior, becoming more cautious and traveling in smaller groups at night due to increased risks and law enforcement actions. The number of illegal border crossings at the Serbian-Hungarian border has drastically decreased since October 2023, attributed to effective border management by Hungarian and Serbian authorities. Migrants are now using alternative routes through Bosnia and Herzegovina to enter the EU. Reports suggest a disorganized arrival of migrants, providing authorities with better opportunities for apprehension.
