New research published in The Lancet Psychiatry reveals that playing Tetris can help alleviate intrusive memories associated with trauma, a key symptom of PTSD. The study, developed at Uppsala University, involved healthcare workers affected by trauma during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Imagery Competing Task Intervention (ICTI) significantly reduced intrusive memories from 14 per week to 1 per week after four weeks, with 70% of participants free from intrusive memories after six months. The treatment focuses on mental imagery and utilizes Tetris to occupy the brain's visuospatial areas, leading to improvements in overall PTSD symptoms. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
