Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced the mobilization of 4.5–5 billion forints for drought protection measures in Hungary, including improving irrigation canals and providing free water to farmers. Despite these efforts, challenges remain in combating drought, with only parts of the country currently irrigated. The aim is to triple the irrigated land from 110,000 hectares. Orban emphasized the importance of supporting farmers financially during severe droughts. The Drought Protection Operational Task Force has been established to assist in these efforts.
