Poland is tightening visa regulations after an audit revealed that the previous government allowed consulates in Asia and Africa to take bribes for work visas. Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that the Law and Justice party lost control over the visa system from 2018 to 2023, leading to numerous irregularities. The investigation found that thousands of visas were issued unlawfully, including to Russian citizens and under false pretenses for Indian farmers.
