Over 50 organizations, including Access Now and CDT Europe, warned EU Technology Commissioner Henna Virkkunen against delaying the AI Act, expressing concerns that such actions would undermine accountability mechanisms. The letter argues that simplification should not lead to deregulation without credible evidence. Meanwhile, over 40 CEOs from European companies, including ASML and Philips, have called for a two-year pause on the AI Act's obligations to allow for reasonable implementation. The AI Act, which regulates AI systems based on societal risk, is set to fully apply by 2027, with some obligations starting as early as 2025. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
