A US federal judge has allowed Russian soprano Anna Netrebko to proceed with her national origin discrimination case against the Metropolitan Opera, following her dismissal after refusing to denounce Putin. The judge noted potential discrimination in Netrebko's replacement by non-Russian artists. The case will also include a gender discrimination claim, as Netrebko's male counterparts were treated more favorably. The Met expressed confidence that Netrebko's claims would not succeed.
