On October 19, a heist at the Louvre Museum shocked France, with thieves stealing €88 million in jewels. Social media erupted with speculation and misinformation, including false claims about Russian involvement and the identity of the thieves. Allegations regarding a Russian passport were dismissed by the Paris prosecutor's office as fake. A viral image of a man, wrongly identified as a suspect, was actually of Stefan Dolbashian, a man arrested in 2010 for unrelated charges. Another viral image featured a boy named Pedro Elias Garzon Delvaux, mistakenly thought to be a detective, who was simply visiting the museum with his grandparents.
